The Vision Behind Vues
When we sat down to build Vues.ca, we didn't just want another social media group. We wanted to solve a specific problem: How can thousands of people work in the same place and yet feel like they are missing out on a real community?
The "Why" behind Vues is built on five core beliefs that make our community unique:
1. No One Should Celebrate Alone Our airport is a beautiful mosaic of cultures, languages, and traditions. We realized that many of us celebrate holidays and festivals away from our extended families due to work. We founded Vues so that no matter where you are from, you have a family here. Whether it's Diwali, Eid, Christmas, or Lunar New Year, we celebrate together.
2. A Foundation of Built-in Trust The aviation world is unique because every one of us has passed rigorous background clearances. We are a community of vetted, responsible professionals. That creates a level of safety and trust you won't find on public apps. When you meet someone through Vues, you already know they are a reliable colleague who shares your commitment to security and integrity.
3. Exceptional Benefits, Shared Adventures We have the best travel benefits in the world, but they are often hard to use alone. Vues was founded to help us coordinate. Why fly standby solo when you can join a group of colleagues for a weekend in Tokyo or a hike in the Rockies? We have the keys to the world; Vues is the map that helps us explore it together.
4. A Platform for Your Hidden Passions Most of us have "hidden lives" outside the uniform. We are photographers, musicians, tech-geeks, and chefs. But on the ramp or at the gate, there’s rarely a platform to share those talents. Vues is that platform. It’s a place to step out of your role and show your colleagues who you really are.
5. Supporting Your Side-Hustles and Ventures Aviation is full of entrepreneurs. Many of our colleagues run incredible businesses and ventures outside of work hours. We believe in "buying local"—and there is nothing more local than supporting a coworker. Vues is a space where we can amplify each other's projects and support our colleagues' dreams outside the airport.
